Condition:

There could be a concern that the vehicle cranks however do not begin.


Cause:

This condition could also be caused by a sheared rotating shaft sprocket locating pin.


The camshaft might seize the camshaft bearings just once throughout engine operation.

On rare occasions, a crank with no start may be encountered.

Correction:

During diagnosis, the technician can notice correct fuel pressure, spark from every electrical device wire, and proper contrivance pulse. However, the subsequent issues are going to be noted during their diagnosis:


Low static compression

Excessive cylinder escape past an intake or exhaust valve

Service Procedure1. Crank the engine while checking for movement within the valve train. Note: this may be done by shining lightweight down the oil fill tube on most models.• If the valve train seems to be moving usually while the shaft is turning, still step 2.• If you establish valve train isn't moving whereas the shaft is turning, move ahead to step 4.2. Disconnect the CMP sensing element to visualize if the engine can start. If the engine starts, move ahead to step 4.3. Perform the subsequent SI diagnostic procedures as necessary:3.1. Engine Cranks however don't Run diagnosis.3.2. Engine Compression check (document results).3.3. Cylinder escape check (document results).⇒ If the SI procedures are higher than isolating an engine mechanical concern (low compression; excessive cylinder leakage through the exhaust or intake, any kind of valve train damage, etc.), still step 4.Note: Before removing the front cover, verify the electronic warfare calibrations just in case engine replacement is necessary.4. when finishing steps 1, 2, or 3, take away the front cowl to examine for a sheared cam sprocket surveyor pin.⇒ If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, engine replacement is needed
