problem on Nissan and Infiniti vehicles this is the iock motor what happens is is that the iock shorts out and they short out they come did they see you they see em however you want to call the Computer so we're going to explain here what to do when if you have an issue like that and this is very common it's it is so common in fact that there's a link in Amazon if you go to Amazon and you type in Nissan I ACR the idle air control of alpha you would see that this particular part that we see here I was shocked when I win it when I actually found that out I said this this must be incredibly and sure enough it is very is very common on Nissan and Infiniti Vehicles so as you can see on screen they say in SNSD a 509 a quad MOSFET chip this is a is what it is is for Fe T's or MOSFETs those are transistors into one that long chip that you see on screen we're going to explain to you what I did actually have the part so I said to myself well you know just just to just to see if it works and again we're gonna stress stresses in the video it is a temporary solution to the problem you could leave it permanent if You use different transistors but I only had the two one to seven thousand Fe T transistors so and that they're about two hundred milliamps transistors so anyhow we want to explain what we did here and how to go about fixing it and this could also serve as a template if you wanna if you don't have the partner you can't get the part for whatever reason maybe you see this video a couple years from now this part is no longer available you can do what we're doing in The individual you just have to use different transistors that take a little bit more heat so again seen here I did my own sketch for the circuit and this is exactly the same as you'd see on the datasheet in other words every electronic chip IC part has a datasheet the data sheet tells you exactly what the pinout is for the part lucky for me I there was a pin there was a datasheet available so I was able to Get it online so again as you can see pins number 1 through 10 it's a 10 pin IC that you just saw and each pin has a specific its it has a correspondent to the actual transistor the discrete transistors did when we say the screen we're talking about one single transistor one by one so we we rather than do you know do the chip with it for Fe T transistors and we interconnected them together as you see on screen this is my own sketch that I Did for the circuit as you can see the the IC has pins number 2 4 6 and 8 those are the gates for this particular Fe TS don't worry about what they mean because you really care what you know what you want to know it's how they are connected so you don't even have to know about electronics to do this job so again 2 4 6 & 8 are the gates 1 and 10 the pins in other words the holes are on the on the PC board the first one and the last one 1 and 10 are this source they're all Interconnected on the other through this but we can't do that because it's a transistors number there's this second third and fourth transistors we have gonna have to interconnect them outside so again pin number one the sword's is the actual pin the actual hole that we're going to solder the unit in and the other three we're gonna have to solder them outside and then we're gonna then connect it and solder them to the last pin which is pin number 10 and then Pin number 3 5 7 and 9 or the drain and so with that in mind and with the datasheet information that we just gather we'll get enough information to pretty much build this thing so I started by disconnecting or disassembly disordering d IC that you just saw before and then from there I went on to install the different and they remember therefore the same so you can't go wrong so for these transistors these things are Dime-a-dozen they're very cheap very inexpensive and so we just did it just again this is not a permanent solution if you want to do it in a permanent solution you can get the part you're gonna have to go with a little bit beefier transistor that you can see the PC board now the pin this is this is the pin number one mark so you don't get confused so you feel know where pin number one is almost every not almost every electronic component that has say A specific pin out we're not talking about resistors and stuff like that that those you don't care you can put it put on me either way so that mark that you see there that's pin number one so that's the starting point for our sketch that I did before so remember to tie all the source pins together because actually the three the last the last three the first one it's the source is connected right right on the whole that's interconnected if you Look under the PC board you'll you'll see that they're interconnected on there but this in order to get the sources those three sources are tied to the last pin which is pin number 10 so you're gonna have to tie them together open pretty much and then from there you that's it you're done once it's finished the third pin four transistors through two three and four are going to be lifted they're not going to be soldered to the PC board at each specific point Only at the end pin which is pin number 10 as you see on screen and pretty much you know this whatever you knowledge you're gaining in this video will probably be able he'll help you out especially years from now when this particular part is no longer available you can actually use for independent discrete Fe T transistors with a little bit of current flow so that you can anything probably half an amp will probably be okay I don't know exactly What the that I don't think it's gonna be half an amp is probably going to be enough even even an injector a regular old old-fashioned injector now the direct injectors with draw almost an amp so I don't think a Nayak is gonna is gonna draw more than an amp so again you know it's and remember you have what you have used a stepper motor so pretty much all you have to do is get four you know transistors that can take the heat probably half an amp 500 milliamps or an App it will probably be enough you'll be okay with that I hope  repair clusters and computers work you know abs or any computer truly I mean as soon as you start learning how to activate those devices is actually pretty familiar so I did a post on my Channel here on YouTube and I also promote these classes on Facebook this is gonna be the first part of I don't know how many and not all depends on you guys hopefully this creates a lot of more viewers and people that are interested on learning how to do electrical diagnosis because these that I will show you here will apply onto any vehicle that you work on it's not just like in this case I have a 1996 Toyota Tacoma same on the 4runners 22r engine Computer this was replaced like a year ago and I kept it to the test the problem on this one now that I have it here in my lab it was actually a capacitor they got you know exploded very common especially on these all computers but so coming back onto what I'm doing here and I want to share with you guys is I will start you know with the basics which is how to get a pin out how to connect to the computer how is safe for the computer it's not going to Be anything that will create a you know a harm to ourselves because it's low voltage but so we need to make sure that we get you know get technicians battery grounds and that's what we need to go and check for wire diagrams I also wanted to show a little bit of what I have here on my life and then we will go and proceed with the wire diagrams connections into the computer and then reverse engineering which is you know it's very Very hard to find a schematic for the internals on the computer lucky for us mechanic we have at least you know the outside which is you know sensors and actuators and believe it or not inside the computer is very similar in a very smaller way but it's the same thing we have inside a computer controller that is going to be receiving all those signals and then converting from an analog to digital like that we can you know seeing on a scanner in this Case this computer is a little old so it's not capable to communicate that much with the scanner so we only get you know codes but on you know 1996 and up you are able which I brought the computer I mean my scanner here because I got a four computer in here but I wasn't able to open it up because the bolts are too tight but so again let's focus on what we're doing let me talk a little bit on what we have and then we will start checking the Harness or sorry the wire diagram and the connections in here so let me take the camera and get you a little close to what we have here or what I have here so first of all this tool right here that's an engine and computer simulator with this one me actually stop one sec in the video so I can grab the phone alright so this is again his engine computer simulator it's pretty pretty neat I got this one coming from China obviously actually some people in some of the guys And Venezuela and Mexico they are actually doing some of these tools to sell you cannot you can do yourself also this is you know we have an right side of this tool we have a power source you can select five all those syllables and 24 volts we have this row right here for six injectors move this out of the way then we have ignition coils up to six secretion coils this will be ground and battery power We have also signals for chem sensors and cranks and a source on that side we have on this side we got solenoids and we also have in here sorry my des it's a little small and I will be moving over to a bigger house and then we're gonna have a little more room to work and it's not gonna be so tight as I'm working right now but it's okay so so we have at the time when I connect the injectors for simulation it will inject the signal to the computer so the Computer thinks that it has injectors working I can change on each injector the ejection timing same is for the coils so what we do here hopefully this is sometimes it's a little hard to to see because of the type of screen on there and believe me it's blue but I know it's not looking that way like there so we have number one sensors I can just click run and I have DC signals so I can have as you see here I got you know CTS coolant temperature sensor TPS Total position sensor a map a math and an o2 sensor as you can see now these ones are blinking so let me go on the first one which is the CTS look at the voltage I can adjust it here to 0 from 0 to 5 volts which is regular or more often where we will see on those type of sensors and then all I have to do is just connect one of these wires that I already have with four million millimeter banana adapters I have a whole bunch of harnesses that I've been Doing myself I have one in here that I have four two connectors that I can use for different computers and I can connect the scanner onto it so again it's pretty handy to have that you don't need to have that and I will show that in future videos this is just because it's pretty easy and I have to start doing with a Arduino boards which I will be showing that as I have one Arduino board ready to go here with all the connections and everything because I Will be fabricating with you guys on future videos again a tool to simulate signals so you can inject a square wave a sine wave or whatever we need to do the back the reverse engineering because when we're proceeding to you know find a way through the computer let's say you know in this case and I will probably show a little bit this tonight because I mean times it's always wrong really quick especially when you're trying to change information but you know I'm Going to inject the n.e signal which is coming on this vehicle from the igniter to the computer and then we can follow that pad backwards which will be an assert to go from the microchip or whatever we will have on this car the controller we will go from the connector internals to see you know what kind of resistors we have capacitors because we will have most likely you know filters which is capacitors and resistors that will go to ground and then you also have Protections that go in on the same pads like that is not going to grounds just like a resistor to you know to protect the signal so in case or any reason somebody puts 12 also it gets shorter the power or short it to ground it doesn't affect the computer but we will see that moving on on to the classes again hopefully you guys like the content and believe me it's a little hard I'm gonna be a little rusty sharing information in this type of way and you 



Know I'm an auto technician I used to be an instructor in Nigeria for those that don't know me I'm from Nigeria originally yeah which is a beautiful country I have a video that I did on one of my vacations like two years ago you can see that on my channel ok let's go back into the tools I have for myself I have a microscope this is a forgot the brand I bought these on it's an M scope I got all these from Aliexpress it's the easiest way to order self except for For that and then I have my satyr in which is micro pencils and I got hot Weezer's I got an ultrasonic cleaner which you will need to clean bores as like, in this case, I will show you in a second the capacitors got exploded on the bore luckily for this computer it wasn't that much 

of damage because it's a very acid liquid that comes out of there then I have solder in soccer because this one is good because you can do it you know with the Manual ones but that's super fast all right so we have here this is a signal generator from regal it's really good this is the DG 1022 Z it's very capable right now it's not connected because it shares the same type of connection so you know power wise on the back so whenever I need one I disconnect the other one otherwise it runs too many cables I have this sickling the SDM 3:05 five again from Amazon this is a bench tester And it has you know the capability to go into really accurate measurements for resistors because you know when I'm working I also repair 

laptops and phones you know since I have all this equipment you need to be very accurate remove the resistor some you know another resistor the capacitor is a measure good because sometimes it you know that can be the issue I have also had a recession this is from chronic really really good I recommend that 100% I had that for Life flat-four to five years, not a problem ever very powerful so that is the ex Roenick 4000 series that's a model for 0 what else we got here ok we got this is a fluke scope meter it's a very very powerful tool this one is a 200 megahertz with 2.5 we get samples per you know it can record I mean a tremendous amount of data I think it's up to 21 days of recorder that's what this record is in here and I also have a 4 channel one but I keep that one in the shop because these ones are super handy you know just 

turn it on is ready to go like let me show you one second like you know how is even a snap and you have to wait for that to build and then go on to you know let's get the scope side and connect the leads and all the stuff this one turned on ready to go and this one is it has a meter or a multimeter right so I can go and measure arms continuity dial temperature select what I want to Measure and then I have a two-channel oscilloscope you know channel a and channel B which I love in this one it's isolated inputs oh yeah isolated input so it's not a problem we feel reverse one sigh I'm gonna burn the scope and I know that on you know very careful when you're working into any of these electronics especially when you're using a power source I forgot to mention this one this is the power source that I Usually, use like in this case I'm 

connecting the computer this any computer with that power source that I like a lot because I can select either channel I'm using on this case channel two for this computer and I can go and change the voltage now it's off but you know I can go up to thirty-two bolts for a computer you know twelve point six that is a good voltage you can go even thirteen voltage now I'm going to affect anything and then I select the Amperage I usually go no more than a half an amp as you can see right there because if it's anything wrong in the computer that power source will not let go more than point four amps so if I have right now everything ready connected all the grounds and power so if I turn channel two on for that computer right here you will see that I had thirteen 13 volts but it's only drawing 11 amps sorry a hundred and ten 

milliamps is point zero 11 amps which are You know a very minimum consumption so the computer is not it's not bad even though that capacitor exploded and he's not there because I don't have it yet here remember capacitors are usually to filter the signals so it's not going to affect if it will affect the computer if he's shorter like in that case the capacitor was shorted to the ground so they pad from the 5 volts to the ground was shorted and I have created an issue the The reason, why you need an oscilloscope, is like in this case I'm going to eject the signal and I need to follow that pad to see if the signal reaches the destination which is the controller right so that's how I do the reverse engineering so I know that today is 

gonna be a lot of talking and not much on the classes I want to start doing these videos for like around 15 minutes at a time 15 to 20 minutes another piece of equipment that I like to use here is That camera the camera I can record and I can move that into here which that's what I will be showing you guys so this is what I see on the microscope and again I can go in and out the only thing I'm a little boom from here is usually I can see a lot more on on the microscope than where the actual camera is showing in here let me take that off the screen alright but the image as you can see it's a very capable camera I cannot Complain that's what they call I think it's a tree head microscope as you can see the camera is in here and I can see perfectly through any of these inside to work on the computer so the other thing that I do and I'm going to go a little over that I usually use either old data or identification I'm working on diagrams like this because 

as you can see you know I select if like, in this case, it's not that noticeable but if any of these paths Would cross to the second page of the third page if I selected one it will select it on all I then effects doesn't do that only all data so what I usually look at on the diagrams Toyota is pretty easy because remember in here I'm using coal red wire diagrams this is not the original this is a real righted diagram and it can have errors so you need to compare before you power as a computer or do something else let me turn the computer off before you do






 Something else make sure it's correct because I have been burned by a run cold I am that is telling me that something is one way and it's not so they'll always always check your diagrams so in here we have pin 1 it's clearly is showing B plus 1 and if I follow that path you know and then bn9 it's a white and red those are actually feeding power to the mass airflow both both of those wires so do I really need that one not probably much so maybe just this battery One because this water the number 2 pin to it comes from the engine compartment fuse box and it's hot all the times I have also an ignition switch in here a little hesitant to see that I don't have anything ignition wise but you know this is such an old computer I didn't see anything the said ignition like this IET and IEF those are actually signals that come from the igniter which is up top here so this is what I usually still you know Follow what I need in here and I'm gonna be wrong let me see one second here because sometimes I think on these all to euros they actually master flow it's actually not cool master flow is a volume air flow meter it has a hat of power to feed to the computer I'm coming right remembering that and I'm pretty sure is that yep I am pretty sure because if you see we have another day every relay which is powered by an ignition fuse yes yeah yeah that is Exactly what it is and that's why I selected it so if we see and I'm going to go over with you guys with that so we got this ignition fuse in here which goes right here and I can select a pad here so so this is the activation so we don't need that one we have another connection in here to that a hot all the time so as soon as this relay closes it will energize all these fats like select all those and we will know in a second that that is the same pad that I have in Here so when ignition is turned on this relays this relay they Fe relay will get energized close the contact and supply the power to the computer on on B plus and B plus one so those are technicians for those are familiar with Toyota you know that the other uses e4 grounds so we have e 0 1 e 1 and e 0 to all those are grounds there are flies if it would be on the car together on G 120 on the intake manifold and those are very prone to left loose Create a whole bunch region so on the computer so that's what I did so I go onto the computer and let me show you that and this is nice from Toyota so I'm relying on yes sending out the computer probably you guys will be able to see here but all these pins let me get something to point at so all these pins in here are actually labeled so we have bad bad one and if you see here it says zero one so let me show that into the camera try not to get too much of it Layer of the light but you see we have a 0 1 in E 0 2 so u 0 2 is the pin inside and easy Rho 1 is the pin outside and then we got an A 1 which is the paint inside under under this one so these are my three grams and if I go over to the order connector which are our powers as I think pin 1 and 2 and p9 but you can see it right here we got B 1 battery and then p9 is actually under this pin 1 and that's B 0 1 I think OB 0 2 what is standing there in the diagram B plus 1 And B plus so that's the order 1 so that's how you I get power onto a computer like this so again I have already selected to the end II signal and I can inject the signal in here on the crank I selected the pin in here the Syst crank so I'm going to put that in there right now I got no power to the computer but what I'm going to do so I'm going to go back here and I'm going to select rpm signal and then I can either inject on a square Waveform I can select a sine wave form knowing - you're coming from the the ignitor is a square waveform 0 to 5 volts so we need to make sure first that that is the correct waveform with before we injected the computer will have protection so even even though if you put a bigger square wave let's say you know zero to 12 the resistors and the capacitors inside the computer will diminish that signal as it goes inside to make sure that when it reaches the Controller is zero to five or zero to whatever that computer is using that's what we'll be drawing in there and we'll see that alright guys let me show you a little bit I think this video the first one is going to be a little longer than expected but it's gonna be the first class so I'm going to let it go yes for this one so let me show you that a square waveform on the scope so I'm going to set up the tripod one less thing also that I wanted one another Thing that I wanted to show you too is try to get yourself always I mean in this case for the classes I got a whiteboard but a notepad make sure that you write down your pins like this computer has only two connectors one is the 16 pins and the other one is a 26 pins so I'm connecting one with the 16 pins those are where the powers are so we got pin 1 which is an ignition ignition feed pin 2 which is battery which that's gonna keep alive the memory On the computer and then p9 which is an ordered ignition then we had the grounds on the second connector 26 pins the grounds are pin 13 26 and 26 sorry sorry 24 and 26 and then our any signal which is the one I'm going to do the reverse engineering going back to the controller is in pin 21 so the next thing that I wanted to show sorry for that switch your gears in there is that signal on the actual Scylla scope to make sure there's Something we can use on I got their scope pretty much ready to go I can show you what the readings are here I'm reading on channel B which is the one I'm going to use for the test this bolted ac/dc and that's it I can then change either the time or the voltage depending on the signal so I'm going to select hopefully you guys can see in there on a square waveform and that is actually happening right now so I'm going to i probe here First unlike this lead I mean they're made for to work in the computer in the ground it's always very small so let me move that waveform a little downward and let's put more voltage alright so yep too much I guess we need cursors to see that is actually high 12 volts so you see we have a 12 volt signal we had two cursors in there is reading me the low and the high so this is a 12 volt square wave that is still too big need a 5 volt so let me go back let's use 50 plus 1 Let's see what is gonna be there's also 12 volts one second guys let me find one that is 5 volts because we can I use it to a boat I want to show you guys on the actual box in here I think this one is called in 9,000 plus so I can select on a square wave as I was doing before and when I run it as you can see here we got blinking one in here and I also have a baby channel zero the nice thing about that is this channel 1 2 celery 0 1 & 2 can be adjust from 12 volts to zero so Let me show you that on the oscilloscope and now we can use that to actually bring the signal into the computer and I think I'm actually skipping a step very important you can do it either way the best way to do the tracking on the computer is to actually use just a regular multimeter I can use the scope I have a multimeter and a scope and I didn't show this before I want to show this now let me actually unplug the power like that I can show you but why Am I so tight this right here hopefully I can be reading in there so there are isolated inputs so this is the way I like it's like a floating round so it's not a dangerous scope either way I will always recommend to do a measurement on any computer with just one channel and if you're going to use 2 channels just make sure that you're using you know the powers and ground and respect that always negative on the negative and positive on the positive For the both channels especially because we're connecting to a tool that is coming from 110 grounds internally on those tools are all share so if you connect back or something it can create a sparks and that's what a lot of solo skills they are not floating grounds or isolated implants they get burned because people don't protect that don't realize and then it blows the the meter alright so right now I have data line connected so what I'm going to do see That in there I'm just going to plug these silly Gators are coming from that channel 0 just created any sparks swells in here so I'm going to put these stick together here and this one and here so as you can see I am having right now coming from channel 0 0 to 5 pretty much 2 to 5 I can scale that one by changing their voltage a little more when go away so if I'm if I move that one we can see more the actual waveform I'm going to move the now the cursors to the the top
